"Then Job arose, tore his robe, shaved his head, and fell on the ground and worshipped."
Job 1:20 NRSV
Gracious God we confess there are times when like your servant Job of old, we don’t understand what you are doing and why you are allowing some things to happen. However we pray for faith to stay with you and to trust You, even as he did. Even with all that we may not understand there are still some things we know about you and can say and stand on without fear of contradiction.
You will never betray us or deny us. You will never falsely accuse us. You will never lie to us or lie on us. You will never give us bad counsel or direct us in the wrong way. You will never turn his heart away from us. You will never bow to any political or any other kind of pressure when it comes to blessing us or being our advocate. You will never take us for granted. You will never turn us over to our enemies to save Yourself.
You will never walk out on us. You will never give up on us. You will never abuse or misuse our love or out trust. You will never leave a prayer unanswered or turn a deaf ear to our cry. You will never leave us without giving us what we need to keep standing until our breakthrough comes. You will never stop believing in us or stop loving us. Even in our troubles great is your faithfulness, O God.
We will continue to trust you because no matter what we experience or go through we know that there is one word that we will never hear from you and that word is “can’t.” There is no problem You can’t solve. There is no situation You can’t turn around. There is no enemy You can’t conquer. There is no sickness You can’t cure. There is no door You can’t open. There is no bill You can’t pay.
There is no addiction You can’t deliver us from. There is no generational curse You can’t break. There is no hell-hold You can’t enter. There is no devil You can’t conquer. There is no yoke You can’t break. There is no stronghold You can’t bring down. There is no life You can’t redeem. There is no soul You can’t save. There is no place You can’t go.
Therefore we pray for faith to stay with You no matter what happens from day to day or time to time, When things are going well and when our lives have been turned upside down and inside out, we pray for faith to stay with you. We offer this prayer in the name of our Lord Jesus who stays with us no matter what, Amen.
